Mahyar, when we look at your achievements, we are very impressed, what is your best memory?
When I won the French championship in 2002, at Clermond-Ferrand: finally, I was considered as French.
Your Worst one?
When I lost during my 7th World Championship in Levallois. Maybe also at the beginning of my career, while I was an amateur or a pro, the judges are robbing you because you are unknown and unprotected.
What are you doing now?
I’m at the Council of a French Department (La Vienne) as a deputy director for Sports. In addition, I’m not done with Boxing, since I’m working with Orange Sports as sports consultant.
Speaking of that, TV channels aren’t likely to air Boxing, what kind of future do you expect for Boxing?
TV Channels are going to air boxing fights as long as they are interesting and attractive.
Boxing’s future is going to be reserved for some private & high-class groups (private fights with dinners, casinos, etc.), or with the organization of some fights with local Boxers. Those boxers have to be able to bring back Boxing to its origins!
Something else to add ?
A word for sports & boxing fans: our sport needs YOUR help to continue, please go to gyms to watch us box.
